Be Ready

“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’

Matthew 7:21-23

Jesus words in this passage of Scripture are haunting. Not everyone who makes a verbal profession shall enter the kingdom. True conversion will lead to not only right words but right deeds.

It is important to know the right things and doctrinal truths concerning Jesus. It is helpful to know about what Jesus’ taught and claimed. But that in itself is not enough.

True salvation occurs when we believe in Him. Conversion requires trusting Christ and Christ alone by faith. This type of faith will lead to doing the “will of my Father in heaven.”

Have you turned from your sin to Christ alone? Are you trusting Christ as your Savior?  Is there any evidence of your salvation? Are you desires Godly and biblical? The answers to these questions will determine where you spend eternity.

God Is………..

The Lord is good, a refuge in times of trouble. He cares for those who trust in him,

Nahum 1:7

The Lord is good and perfect in all of His ways. His goodness remains in all times and in all places. The Lord is good, great and holy forevermore.

The Lord is protects His people. Even during times of difficulty, Jesus is our refuge who never changes. He is our place of safety in a dangerous world.

The Lord cares for His children. He knows those who trust in Him. And Christ never forgets His own.

The Old Testament prophet gives us great truth here. God is good, protective, and compassionate towards those who are His. That truth is what we need to live for Him each day of our existence on this planet.

Jesus

Behold the three offices of Jesus as given to us by Scripture:

*Jesus is Prophet

22 For Moses said, ‘The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among your own people; you must listen to everything he tells you. 23 Anyone who does not listen to him will be completely cut off from their people.”

Acts 3:22-23

*Jesus is Priest

In the same way, Christ did not take on himself the glory of becoming a high priest. But God said to him, “You are my Son; today I have become your Father.” And he says in another place, “You are a priest forever, in the order of Melchizedek.”

Hebrews 5:5-6

*Jesus is King

They will wage war against the Lamb, but the Lamb will triumph over them because he is Lord of lords and King of kings—and with him will be his called, chosen and faithful followers.”

Revelation 17:14

Hallelujah! What a Savior!
